Getting Involved
Our center relies upon the generous offerings of time and effort from its members and volunteers. Volunteering is a great way for new members to connect with others in the community and for our established members to take up leadership roles within the sangha. Everything is considered practice, whether cleaning or gardening, serving in ceremonial roles or on the board of directors. Please let us know if there's a particular skill you would like to offer or would like some suggestions on current needs.

So many tiny gracious acts must come together for us to sit zazen any given Thursday evening. Someone dusts the cushions, someone sifts bits of burnt incense out of the brazier, someone sweeps the flagstones, someone emails a newcomer with directions, someone adjusts the sound for the Sky Zendo, someone rings the densho bell. What a marvelous stage performance it would make, each of us harmonizing our actions to steady beat of the Heart Sutra. Our interdependence, our vital belonging, is directly expressed in the ordinary activity of rolling up the sleeves at the center of Zen practice. ~ Seido
