Bodhisattva Activity: Vimilakirti on Embrace of the World’s Suffering

In this talk, Seido uses the teachings of Vimilakirti to suggest how we might bear witness to the war in Ukraine and all suffering in the world that has no immediate solution. She contrasts the hero archetype, one who is infallible, always knows what to do, and saves the day, with the bodhisattva, a person who embraces paradox, vulnerability and acts in concert with the way things truly exist as a participant not an observer.
