Diamond Sutra: Entering the Stream

Seido talks about the early Buddhist teachings that described stages on the path of practice and how the bodhisattva vow that relies upon the teaching of emptiness includes releasing any attachment to spiritual achievement. The early teachings 0n enlightenment point to achieving a state in the absence of delusion, whereas the later Mahayana sutras characterize awakening as thoroughly penetrating delusion in the midst of delusion by releasing any idea of gain.
