Nehan – Last Conversations with the Buddha

Updated: Jan 12

Seido talks about the ceremony of Nehan performed prior to the talk. Nehan commemorates the Buddha’s death and his entry into Parinirvana, or final enlightenment, something that can also be thought of as a great unbinding. This talk includes the way the Buddha brought his students along to observe in plain sight the truth of impermanence – his aging, illness and death so that they could become “lamps unto themselves.”
