If we sincerely walk the path, eventually the practice becomes who we are. We see when we are caught with the old mind—the poisons of greed, aversion or delusion—and a response naturally arises. Aversion, compassion. Delusion, wisdom. One foot, the other foot. As Dogen says, “Continuous practice is the circle of the way. . .Your practice affects the entire earth and the entire sky in ten directions. Although not noticed by you or others, it is so.”
